“Thanks babe.” he said taking the tea from her. He smiled up at her and took a small sip not wanting to burn his tongue.

He chuckled and shook his head. “Never mind.” he said and turned his attention back to the tv where he watched her flip through the channels.

“Why me?” he asked all of a sudden. “Why’d you pick me?”

At times he felt like she was too good for him and really all he wanted was to give her things she deserved, but he didn’t have much, but his love for her. He was glad that it took only that to make her stay with him. That first time he saw her at the bus station and many times after that, was when he had a liking towards her, but he always showed up with some type of bruise, black eye, or injury. He knew he shouldn’t question why she chose him of all people, but it just made things better when he heard her say it. There were just times when he just thought too much and his mind became jumbled with everything. This was one of those times.

Kelsi laughed a bit before turning her head back to the TV and flipping through the channels until she heard the question come out.

“Excuse me?” Kelsi looked at him in shock. “Eli..”

Kelsi gripped her grasp on his hand just a bit tighter. “You got me through my darkest days. You made me smile. I didn’t choose you. I fell for you. I hate guys who shower me with things, that’s what Jackson did. He bought my love. You stole it.” Kelsi smiled. “Please don’t think you’re not worth it. We’re both worthy of eachother. I don’t care how you look, or dress, I think you’re the best person in my life. You’re always my number one.” She said, leaning over and giving him a kiss. “It’s over for now. You’re away from him.” Kels said, scooting closer to him referring to his dad, resting her head on his shoulder. “I promise I’ll keep you safe.” She whispered.

“Of course I did. You said you wanted some and I had some so why not?” he chuckled kissing her back. How he ended up with such a wonderful girl was a mystery, but he was finally happy and Kelsi was like the daughter his mom never had.

He held her hand in his and smiled just with that small gesture she did. He ran his thumbs over her knuckles in silence and looked up. “They’re good for now. I apologize for not coming earlier when you did, but I needed to raise enough money for them before I left them. And I’m assuming I’ll be gone for a bit staying here, but with the money I earn here, it’ll go back to them. But they told me to tell you that they miss you and love you.” he said softly smiling up at her. “You’re doing it again.” he muttered out and looked down at their hands as he brought to his lips and kissed the top of her hand.

Kelsi smiled. “Don’t apologize. Seriously. It’s fine babe. And that’s really sweet that you’re doing this for them.” Kelsi got up and went to the kitchen as she brought them both two hot cups of tea. “Here, love. I made you some.” She said handing it to him and holding his hand once again as she grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels.

She felt Eli kiss the top of her hand. “What am I doing?” Kelsi said turning her head, wide-eyed looking at him with a little smile and starting to blush a bit.

He saw the door open and a happy Kelsi hopped up into his arms dropping the small box and automatically he felt like everything was going to be okay. And they were now that he was with her. He gave her a long hard kiss and pulled away once she pulled away.

“I’ve missed you too babe.” he smiled and brought her inside, setting her down on her sofa. He walked back to the door and grabbed the snacks bringing them in and closed the door and locked it behind him. He came back to sit next to her and set the box on the tables in front of them and pulled her into his arms comfortably. He stuffed his face in the crook of her neck and just stayed there for a few seconds before he planted a kiss and held his head up to look at her. “You always smell great.” he chuckled and moved a stray piece of hair from her face.

Kelsi giggled into his shoulder as he placed her on the sofa, sitting up she watched him bring in snacks. “You actually brought them!?” Kelsi said, smiling wide. She walked over to him and kissed him one more time, grabbing the boxes and putting them on the table, grabbing his hand and having him sit on the couch, she put her legs over his. “Tell me, how’s your Mom? Sister? Brother?” Kels asked with deep concern.

Eli’s family was like her family, not in the way that Eli was her brother, but more like they acted like a married couple. Every time Kelsi would go over she would cook dinner for his brother and sister or take his Mom out to the spa. Little things that would make them happy because of the condition they live in. “I miss them” Kelsi said with a little smile, grabbing his hand.

The time when Eli had left his mom and siblings at the airport seemed like only five minutes ago, but it seemed as if it was forever since he saw them. Thinking about it gave him the sudden urge to be sick and so he decided to go stay with Kelsi for the time being. He missed her dearly and she was home for him. So when he found out that coming here would provide a substantial amount of money to take care of his family, he agreed but he also agreed because Kelsi had come first and he was a bit protective of her.

He got up from the bed he was laying in and changed into a white tee with some jeans and converses. He slipped on his jacket and walked over to where Kelsi was staying with the box of snacks he said he’d bring.

He stuffed his hands in his pockets after he knocked on her door and waited.

Kelsi had just finished unpacking all of her things since she just arrived yesterday. When she waved goodbye to her parents at the airport she knew she would be a free woman.. well not relationship wise of course. Kelsi’s Mom was going off to New York to finish filming a movie and her Dad was in Europe doing some other things. You could say she would miss them, but she saw them every single day of her life so it would be good to get away. Plus Reyna was here with her, so she would of course remind her of home.

The brown eyed girl had put on some sweats and uggs with a T-Shirt, and her hair down. Eli and her have been dating for about 2 years now so she didn’t really care at how he looked at her and vice versa. Kelsi heard a knock at her door and got excited. She hadn’t seen Eli for about 2 weeks since he was busy with his Mom and siblings.

Kels opened the door and jumped up, straddling him and giving him a kiss. “I’ve missed you so much!” She said once she released from the kiss.
